The Successful Conclusion of the 2021 Annual Expanded Council Meeting of the Wood Plastic Composite Committee

On May 30th, the 'Wood-Plastic Special Committee 2021 Annual Council (Expanded) Meeting' was held in Hangzhou. As a member of the Wood-Plastic Special Committee Council, Chairman Li Jing and some invited colleagues from the wood-plastic industry, totaling nearly 50 individuals, attended the meeting on behalf of Nanjing Sundi.

Xiao Yi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Wood Plastic Composite Committee, made a summary report on the work of the Committee in 2020. He summarized the work of the Committee in three main aspects: "responding to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic," "promoting industry progress," and "actively carrying out service work." He listed the important activities or events that the Committee experienced in 2020. The report concludes: We believe that the wood plastic industry, which has experienced hardships, will surely find the most suitable path for its own development through hard work. The Wood Plastic Composite Committee will definitely respond eagerly to your call and expectations. Secretary-General Liu Jia reported the key points of the Committee's work plan for 2021 to the participants. He emphasized: In the next few years, the most important work for the wood plastic industry is, firstly, technological improvement and product advancement, and secondly, seizing the opportunity of carbon neutrality to embrace the potential highlights of the wood plastic industry.

To actively respond to the call for "two-carbon" work, on May 30-31, the Wood Plastic Composite Committee held the "Carbon Peak/Carbon Neutrality Capacity Building Training and Guidance" event at the Huifeng International Business Center in Hangzhou. Minister Cui Xiaodong from the Certification Division of the Environmental Development Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment attended the event. Secretary-General Liu Jia gave a prelude speech on the "Negative Carbon Characteristic and Application Advantages of Biomass Composite Materials," and Minister Cui Xiaodong separately presented on the topics "The Significance and National Will of Achieving Carbon Peak/Carbon Neutrality" and "The Low-carbon Development and Industry Progress of the Wood Plastic Industry." They actively provided suggestions to the participants on understanding the "two-carbon" work and the actions that the wood plastic industry should take.
